Danae Vlasse
Danae Vlasse

Pianist and composer Danaë Vlasse brings her unique French-Greek heritage full circle after the award winning recording "Poeme" with her newest project "Mythologies" which has been nominated for a Grammy Award in 2022. Danaë 's father was born on the island of Ithaca where the great ancient Greek stories began and she sets those stories into modern English to be brought to life in her own distinct 21st century composing style. Acclaimed sopranos Hila Plitmann & Sangeeta Kaur are the sirens, muses and narrators as ancient tales are reborn in our time Danaë visited with host John Floridis from her home in Los Angeles, California to talk about her compositional techniques, her introduction into composing and how she strives to use music as a platform for promoting social well-being by giving individuals the opportunity to connect emotionally to their world through art.

John Floridis, the host and producer of Musician's Spotlight, has been with Montana Public Radio since 1997. He has interviewed over 200 musicians during that time. He is also an independent recording and performing artist in his own right and a former registered music therapist.
