A couple of hundred Missoula high school students walked out of class today, demanding tough action on climate change.

Seventeen-year-old Hellgate High School senior Wren Cilimburg has been planning her school’s strike with other members of its environmental club.

The national website coordinating school walkouts Friday to demonstrate against gun violence shows four events in Montana. They’ll be held in Helena, Butte, Bozeman and Missoula.

Friday is the 19th anniversary of the shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado, where 15 people died.

Students at Glacier High School in Kalispell, MT memorialized the Parkland shooting victims on March 14, 2018 by placing 17 empty chairs outside, one for each of the victims.
