Federal Health Insurance Marketplace Can Help You Get Health Coverage

(PD)

President Joe Biden’s administration will open up the federal health insurance market next month. The special sign-up window is aimed at those who lost employer-provided health coverage throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The window to sign up for a plan on the federal Health Insurance Marketplace will open Feb. 15 and run through May 15.

MT Navigator is a free service that assists Montanans with shopping for health care coverage under the marketplace exchange created by the Affordable Care Act. The assistance program said more than 44,000 Montanans have signed up for government health care plans during open enrollment, but suspects many who lost jobs due to the pandemic are in desperate need of health insurance.

MT Navigator says a majority of Americans qualify for financial help to obtain a health care plan.
