More asked of citizen soldiers; support of civilian employers crucial

The military is calling on National Guard and Reserve members to serve more frequently and for longer periods of time.
This puts more pressure on both the soldiers who volunteer their service - and the people who employ them.
In this evening's feature interview with Edward O'Brien, the state chairman of a Department of Defense office called the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve explains how potential conflicts can be smoothed over between these citizen soldiers and their employers.
Chris Hindoien says the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve was started in the 70's:

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
