Voters will have a chance to hear from candidates running for the Montana Supreme Court twice this week at two public forums.

There are two open seats on Montana’s highest court up for election in 2024. MTPR’s Corin Cates-Carney and Shaylee Ragar have a rundown of the candidates and their motivations for running.

Flathead County election administrator Debbie Pierson says an administrative error led to more than 170 people casting ballots in the wrong ward. Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen announced his re-election campaign Tuesday to be the state’s top lawyer for another four years. John Morrison has withdrawn from the race less than a month after announcing his campaign.
