Montana Wilderness Association's Vision For The Flathead National Forest

Apr 2, 2015

We’re continuing our series of interviews with people involved in writing new Flathead Forest plan. One of those people is Amy Robinson, a staffer for the Montana Wilderness Association. Robinson talks about her organization's vision for the Flathead National Forest.

Next week brings a new round of meetings to take public input on the draft management plan for the Flathead National Forest. They’ll be in Seeley Lake, Missoula and Superior on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You can find a list of times and locations below.

"We have this uncertain future ahead. We try to predict what climate change means and how we're going to protect wildlife and connectivity. I think with the level of uncertainty that lies ahead and with the specialness of this landscape that we can't do enough to protect it."

You can also listen to our interview with the Flathead National Forest’s Joe Kruger, who’s in charge of writing the new forest plan.

We’ll hear other perspectives on what the future of the Flathead should look like in the days ahead.
