The House has approved a proposal to eliminate $700 million in already-approved funding for public media. If enacted, it would strip essential services and could force rural stations off the air. The Senate will take up the bill next.

Starting Jan. 1, Kalispell Regional Healthcare (KRH) will begin operating under the name Logan Health. The hospital system has been expanding beyond the Flathead Valley, acquiring medical facilities in the Shelby area and has plans to take over other facilities near the Rocky Mountain Front.

In a press release Friday, KRH CEO Craig Lambrecht said it was time to unify all facilities under the KRH umbrella with the new name.

KRH says the name change will more easily identify facilities across Western Montana, creating more of a seamless experience.
