Gianforte Donates Another $1.5 Million To His Own Campaign
Over the last month, Montana’s gubernatorial race drew over $2 million to fuel the two main party campaigns. But most of that money is coming out of the pocket of the Republican candidate Greg Gianforte.
The most recent campaign finance reports released today show, in the last month, Gianforte nearly doubled the money he’s given to his campaign since entering the gubernatorial race.
The $1.5 million Gianforte gave his campaign, from the end of August to the end of September, brings his total personal donations up to just over $3 million.
In the last month, Gianforte also raised over $200,000 from individual and Republican Party donations. The most recent round of donations banked over a million dollars in media ad buys. The Republican candidate has just over $200,000 dollars left in campaign funds.
Incumbent Democrat Steve Bullock raised over $250,000 in the last month, bringing his cash on hand up to just over $1 million. Bullock spent about a half million over the last month.
A political action committee (PAC) supporting Bullock spent over $1 million in the last month on media opposing Greg Gianforte. The Good Jobs Montana PAC, heavily bankrolled by the Democratic Governor’s Association in Washington, DC, has run eight TV ads against the Republican candidate in the last five months.
