Flathead Valley Community College released their enrollment numbers for their spring semester, and there has been a decrease in the number of full-time students.

FVCC President Jane Karas says that although there’s been a three percent decrease in the number of full-time students, enrollment has gone up overall. She says during the latest economic recession there was a 55 percent jump in enrollment in just two years. Now, the school is adjusting after such a big increase.

“Because the economy is getting better and many students have to work while they are in college, they have more of an opportunity to work, and there’s more jobs available, more work time available, so they’re taking fewer credits.”

Karas says it will not affect the school’s funding, because they have anticipated a decrease of some sort.
