A proposal to claw back funds for public media has already passed the House of Representatives. Montana Public Radio and stations across the country receive critical federal funds to strengthen our work. The Senate could vote on the proposal in the coming days. A new book examines Montana's craft beer revolution

Beer lovers have no shortage of choice in Montana. Whether you're in the mood for a rich, malty  Dopplebock, a super-hoppy IPA or a cold, crisp Pilsner, there may just be a local brewer ready to satisfy your cravings.

Some 40 craft breweries dot Montana's landscape and Missoula-area writer Ryan Newhouse  has a new book telling their stories.
It's called "Montana Beer: A Guide to Breweries in Big Sky Country".
Newhouse is a freelancer who enjoys writing about many different subjects.  He says writers should concentrate on topics they feel passionate about. Good beer is certainly a passion of his.  He writes for several beer blogs and is a co-founder of Missoula Craft Beer Week.
In tonight's feature interview with Edward O'Brien, he explains Montana's brewing history harkens back over 150 years to the state's days as a territory.

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
