Bringing new life to a neat - if underused - Missoula theater

Mike Steinberg

Missoula's Roxy Theater has served as the headquarters of the International Wildlife Film Festival for several years.

An unused theater is a very sad place....

But Executive director Mike Steinberg says the theater, at 718 Higgins Avenue, has essentially been underutilized since it was rebuilt after an unsolved arson burned the original theater to the ground in 1994.
Steinberg - a longtime film programmer - says it's been a great place for various events and film festivals, but is not living up to its full potential. In this evening's feature interview with Edward O'Brien, he explains an ambitious plan to do just that.

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
