Improving native plants on the Butte Hill

Montana Tech

Montana Tech is spearheading a project that organizers say will improve the quantity and diversity of native plants on the Butte Hill.
In this interview with Edward O'Brien, Montana Tech's principal investigator with the restoration ecology project, Kristine Douglass, explains how the continued funding of the Montana Tech Plant Propagation Center by the State Natural Resource Damage Program will help build sustainable plant communities on the caps of the Butte Hill.

Of course, this story actually has its origins in the 1800's.

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
