Rep. Matt Rosendale

Montana’s U.S. Representative, Republican Matt Rosendale, will serve on two congressional committees of relevance to Montanans.

Rosendale announced his committee assignments this week. The first-term congressman will sit on the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, which oversees the Department of Veterans Affairs. About one in 10 Montanans are veterans. Montana’s Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester took over as chair of the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs Wednesday.

Like his three predecessors, Rep. Rosendale will also serve on the House Committee on Natural Resources. It oversees a wide array of issues including energy production; fisheries and wildlife; public lands; mining; tribal issues; and irrigation and reclamation.

Rosendale previously served as Montana State Auditor, Securities and Insurance Commissioner.
