New Wildfires Discovered Near Wolf Creek, Twin Bridges

Two new wildfires were reported in today, one near Wolf Creek and the other near Twin Bridges.

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation says the Jeffries Creek Fire was called in a little after 3:30 p.m., and is located about 14 miles northwest of Wolf Creek. It’s estimated at 30 acres and DNRC has sent two engines, a helicopter and a small air tanker to help local firefighters.

The Biltmore Fire four miles west of Twin Bridges is estimated to be burning about 200 acres of grass and timber. Four engines and two helicopters were on scene shortly after it was reported at about 2:25 p.m. An air tanker was on order as of this post.
