String Orchestra Of The Rockies Prepares For Their 32nd Season

Fern Glass Boyd, artistic director of the String Orchestra of the Rockies talks about the group's upcoming concert at St. Timothy's Summer Music Festival, and the four concerts of the ensemble's 32 season, starting in September.

St. Timothy’s Summer Music Festival is held at St. Timothy’s Memorial Chapel high above Georgetown Lake in Montana. The concerts stretch over 5 Sundays during the summer and start at 4:00 p.m.

The String Orchestra of the Rockies' 2016-2017 season begins September 18. This year they're bringing four guest artists and a guest composer, including:

  • Italian duo Giampaolo Bandini and Cesare Chiacchiaretta, Luminosa Buenos Aires - Sep. 18, 2016
  • Maria Laranioff & Barry Lieberman, Transfigured Night - Nov. 20, 2016
  • Allen Vizutti, Sound the Trumpet - Feb. 26, 2017
  • Tom Morrison, Composer's Showcase - Apr. 9, 2017
