Montana Wildfire Update For August 19, 2021

Montana Wildfire News

The Flathead County Sheriff’s office Wednesday lifted all evacuation orders for the Hay Creek Fire near Polebridge. Firefighters have made progress with cooler and wetter weather. The fire is now 50 percent contained.

A community meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. in Polebridge.

For the Granite Pass Complex the final update from incident command will be Saturday, August 21, 2021, due to a favorable weather forecast and a decrease in fire activity. The complex consists of four wildfires in the vicinity of Lolo Pass.

Rain in Montana has dampened fires, but fire risk remains high and Stage 1 or Stage 2 restrictions are still in effect across the state.

These wildfire updates prioritize the latest information on incidents that could impact public health and safety. This is not a comprehensive list of fires burning in the state. The fires we report on will vary as information changes.
