A Montana Highway Patrol trooper who was shot three times while investigating a fatal Missoula shooting in mid-March is scheduled to return home Wednesday, and the public is invited to join a processions in Missoula and Stevensville welcoming him back.
Attorney General Tim Fox today said Wade Palmer is scheduled to be released from the University of Utah Hospital and fly back to Missoula. A motorcade will escort him home.
"He’s not out of the woods yet," Fox said. "He’ll be home and recuperating there, and he’ll have plenty of therapy and other things going on, but we’re all celebrating here and across the nation for Wade’s homecoming."
Palmer was shot in the neck, face and head.
He’s expected to arrive at Missoula’s airport about 1:45 p.m., and the public is invited to view his escorted motorcade along Broadway between Reserve and McCormick streets. The procession is expected to arrive in Stevensville around 2:20, and the public is invited to join it along Stevensville Cutoff Road.
