Can Do: Seizing An Adventurous Life

Brian Morgan has a superpower: he’s figured out how to turn his wanderlust into a thriving business. In 1999 he created Adventure Life, a Missoula, Montana-based travel business offering clients personalized tours around the globe.

Morgan defines adventure travel as “Going somewhere that’s going to put you out of your comfort zone a little bit, and something that’s really going to introduce you to cultures and environments that you’re not familiar — that’s the core part of adventure.”

After graduating from college in the mid-90s, he alternated stints in Russia and South America with half-hearted attempts to nail down a stay-at-home career. Eventually, Morgan returned to Missoula and, combining entrepreneurship with a love of Latin America, he set up a few tours there. Today, the company is a multimillion-dollar travel concierge service, offering customized experiences from the South Pacific to Europe, from Greenland to Antarctica.

On this week’s "Can Do: Lessons from Savvy Montana Entrepreneurs," Morgan will talk about who today’s adventure travelers are and where they’re headed -- and how he adapts to the challenges of an ever-changing industry.
