Sam Manno
Host and ProducerSam Manno, that’s me! The host and producer of the Children's Corner.
It has been over thirty years since I moved to Montana with every intention of returning to Chicago when I finished graduate school, but like one of Darwin’s Finches, I found a niche.
The niche children’s programming here at Montana Public Radio, first as a guest celebrating reptiles and amphibians with Marcia, to becoming Annie’s “Girl Friday”. Over the past 15 years, with Annie in the lead, I became a co-conspirator in bringing MTPR listeners great (okay better than average) programming for kids of all ages.
As I look back on all those years, the most remarkable thing to date is that I have not lost the keys to the building!
When not in Master control, I attempt to keep a herd of dairy goats out of my neighbor’s yard with limited success, learning along the way that “a well-behaved goat is a sick goat” and “if the wind can get through a fence, so can a goat”.
I proclaim to be an artist, and pastoralist, finding peace as part of a herd of dairy goats with no intention of moving back to Chicago but maybe the rolling hills of Southern Wisconsin.
