    Judge orders release of Froid man held on immigration charges since January

    After more than three months in jail, a federal judge allowed undocumented immigrant Roberto Orozco-Ramirez to be released. A longtime mechanic and beloved community member in Froid, Montana, Orozco-Ramirez was detained by border patrol in January. MTPR's Victoria Traxler spoke with Montana PBS reporter Matt Standal to learn more.

    A longtime mechanic and beloved community member in Froid, Montana was detained by the U.S. Border Patrol in January. Roberto Orozco-Ramirez’ arrest has forced a reckoning in the Republican stronghold on what President Trump’s immigration policies mean on the ground.     Immigration crackdown arrives in rural Montana

    A long-time auto mechanic in the town of Froid, Montana has been swept up in President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown. Border Patrol recently arrested Roberto Orozco-Ramirez. Orozco-Ramirez is the community’s mechanic and volunteers as a youth baseball coach. Montana Free Press’ Nora Mabie has been reporting on the community’s reaction to his arrest.
