From the Director: U.S. House votes to claw back public media funding

The House has approved a proposal to eliminate $700 million in already-approved funding for public media. If enacted, it would strip essential services and could force rural stations off the air. The Senate will take up the bill next.

Briefs: Butte manufacturing investment; Big Hole forest project; Interim U.S. Attorney

General Electric is spending $2 million to modernize a manufacturing facility in Butte. BLM’s Butte Field Office has opened a 14 day public comment period for the Big Hole West Forest Management Project. A former Montana U.S. Attorney will temporarily return to lead the post until a permanent replacement can be confirmed.
