From the Director: U.S. House votes to claw back public media funding

The House has approved a proposal to eliminate $700 million in already-approved funding for public media. If enacted, it would strip essential services and could force rural stations off the air. The Senate will take up the bill next.

CSKT elects a new chairperson and council member

Members of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes voted out their chairwoman and another council member during a recent election. Chairwoman Shelly Fyant lost to challenger Jim Malatare by more than 30 points. Incumbent council member Charmel Gillin lost her post to Jennifer Finley by more than 40 points.
