Sam Manno feeding Essence the goat with help that is no help!

It has been over thirty years since I moved to Montana with every intention of returning to Chicago when I finished graduate school, but like one of Darwin’s Finches, I found a niche.

The niche, children’s programming here at Montana Public Radio, first as a guest celebrating reptile and amphibians with Marcia to becoming Annie’s “Girl Friday”. Over the past 15 years, with Annie in the lead, I became a co-conspirator in bringing MTPR listeners great (okay better than average) programming for kids of all ages.

As I look back on all those years the most remarkable thing to date is that I have not lost the keys to the building!

I proclaim to be an artist, farmer, and pastoralist, finding peace as part of a herd of dairy goats with no intention of moving back to Chicago.
