Kalispell, Montana singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Murray returns to Musician’s Spotlight to visit with host John Floridis and discuss his eventful last several years.
Immersing himself in performing over 200 shows a year as well as 10-15 hours a week singing for hire for a recording studio Mike found himself with vocal polyps and needing to take some serious time off. At the same time a new child arrived to his family and add to all this he was hired by a talent agency to try to write a “hit song” for himself. Through trying to manage all these stressors, he channeled his energy into the writing an album worth of songs aptly entitled “Difficult Days.” After getting the “all go” from an ear, nose and throat specialist and a speech pathologist recorded those songs and reemerged as a live performer.
As the pandemic of 2020 arrived, Mike again immersed himself in his writing and recording and produced not one but two new albums “We Are Like Warriors” and “Western Skies.” Both of these albums he recorded in a small studio he built on his property.
