The 2018 Barbershop Harmony Contest and A Cappella Festival is coming to Missoula, May 18-19. The festival features seven choruses and 20 quartets from Montana, Washington and Idaho.

John Rettenmayer, the chairman of the festival joins Michael Marsolek to preview this weekend's a cappella fun.

Twenty quartets will perform at the UM Music Recital Hall Friday evening beginning at 6. The chorus contest is Saturday morning starting at 10 a.m. Both performance sessions are followed by one hour coaching sessions by a panel of judges.

Michael Marsolek is the program director of Montana Public Radio. He also hosts Tuesday Freeforms and Thursday Morning Classics.
