Solo musicians Sara Watkins, Aoife O’Donovan and Sarah Jarosz discovered a strong musical bond while jamming onstage at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and after follow-up group appearances, they formed a band called I’m With Her. A few of the accomplishments this trio can tick off include the creation of the bands Nickel Creek and Crooked Still, a collective output of nine solo albums, and several Grammy awards, along with collaborations with musicians like The Decemberists, Ollabelle and Yo-Yo Ma. In 2018, I'm With Her released their debut album, "See You Around." It was produced by Ethan Johns and recorded live in the studio, with collaborative songwriting, instrumental accompaniment and three-part harmony singing. Fans of their respective solo careers marvel at how successfully these three frontwomen balance their sound.
What are the origins of that name? It preceded the presidential campaign slogan of Hillary Clinton by 18 months. "We’re not making a political statement," says Watkins. "It’s a celebration of each other. It’s camaraderie.”
