Bonnie Raitt: 36 Years In And Still A Student Of The Blues

Legendary singer and guitarist Bonnie Raitt joins host John Floridis on this week's "Musician's Spotlight" to discuss her release, “Dig In Deep," which is the latest of her 17 studio albums. This is Part One of a two-part program. Besides performing all over the world, Raitt has participated as a special guest on over 185 outside projects over the years, including duets with John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Broadway star (and Bonnie's father) John Raitt, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, Tony Bennett, and Ray Charles. In 1988, she was one of the co-founders of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, which works to improve royalties and recognition for a whole generation of R&B pioneers.

Join John Floridis and the multiple Grammy Award-winning musician named by Rolling Stone as one of both the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time" and "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."

(Broadcast: "Musician's Spotlight,"  08/31/17 and 11/30/17. Listen on the radio Thursdays, 7:30 p.m., or via podcast.)
