Musical prodigy Solomon Hicks describes himself as a blues musician with a jazz mind. He's back in Bigfork for the Crown of the Continent Guitar Festival going on this week. He talks with Michael Marsolek about his dual role as Crown guitar fest student and performer.

You can hear Solomon Hicks at the Crown Guitar Festival finale on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Flathead Lake Lodge in Bigfork.

This interview was done Monday, Aug. 31 before the incredible Jon Herington & Madeleine Peyroux concert. You can listen to a replay of that show Friday, September 4 at 8:00 p.m. on MTPR.

Michael Marsolek is the program director of Montana Public Radio. He also hosts Tuesday Freeforms and Thursday Morning Classics.
