Montana Farmers Union Meets In Great Falls

Hundreds of Montana farmers are in Great Falls discussing issues that affect not only their bottom line, but our food supply.

The 99-year-old Montana Farmers Union is holding its annual meeting and convention that lasts through tomorrow. Farmers face challenges that go far beyond crop yields and market prices.

M.F.U's Project Specialist and chief lobbyist Chris Christiaens talks with Edward O'Brien about some issues that at first blush may seem to have little to do with agriculture. Christiaens starts the discussion with proposals to transfer management of federal lands to state control

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
