He was appointed now he wants to be elected, to the U.S. Senate

As the incumbent, John Walsh has an apparent advantage over his two opponents - John Bohlinger and Dirk Adams - in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.

But Walsh's appointment to the seat long held by Max Baucus, rumpled feathers both within and outside of the party. Still, he's by far attracting the most money in the race, and his campaign is running mostly against his likely Republican opponent in the fall - Congressman Steve Daines - than against his rivals in the primary.
In this feature interview, Senator Walsh talks with News Director Sally Mauk about many of the issues the winner will face in Congress.

Retired in 2014 but still a presence at MTPR, Sally Mauk is a University of Kansas graduate and former wilderness ranger who has reported on everything from the Legislature to forest fires.
