First Edition Shakespeare Plays On Tour In Missoula

Barbara Koostra, director of the Montana Museum of Art and Culture, and Julie Biando Edwards, associate professor at the Mansfield Library, talk with MTPR's Michael Marsolek about an important piece of Shakespeare history coming to Missoula.

The First Folio, the book that was published in 1623 binding all of Shakespeare’s plays together, will be on display from May 9 - May 31. The First Folio was the book that brought us Shakespeare, including 18 plays that most likely would not have been found if this book had not been published.

Michael Marsolek is the program director of Montana Public Radio. He also hosts Tuesday Freeforms and Thursday Morning Classics.
