Mike Steinberg, executive director the the Roxy Theater joins Michael Marsolek to preview the upcoming Montana Film Festival in Missoula. The festival, in its first year, runs October 1 - 4 at the Roxy Theater, and it has a Montana focus:

The festival brings a lineup of new, acclaimed independent films and recent festival hits to Missoula. Four made-in-Montana movie premieres and a Montana film retrospective will highlight the state’s past, present and future cinematic glory. The inaugural festival will welcome guest writers, directors, actors, and industry professionals to experience Montana hospitality and be inspired to develop future productions in this wonderful location we call home. Special film events will introduce audiences to filmmakers, spark conversation and expose the creative workings of filmmaking. At a live table read, festival goers will experience a screenplay go from words on a page to a movie for the ears. The festival has also partnered with Tell Us Something to host “Reel Stories,” a night of film-inspired storytelling by great Montana filmmakers.

Visit the Montana Film Festival website for more information, and download the festival schedule to see everything going on during the festival.

Michael Marsolek is the program director of Montana Public Radio. He also hosts Tuesday Freeforms and Thursday Morning Classics.
