Tom Brady's Rookie Card Sold At Auction For $555,988

SARAH MCCAMMON, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Sarah McCammon. NFL quarterback Tom Brady is heading to his 10th Super Bowl in less than two weeks - more than any other quarterback in NFL history. So when his autographed 2001 rookie card went up for auction, it attracted a lot of attention and cash. The card, in virtually perfect condition, sold for over $550,000 on eBay. And the buyer still got charged $8 for expedited shipping. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
