Jon Jackson and Greg Patent get through six of the ten items on blogger and historian Juan Cole's list, "Top Ten Ways Corporate Food is Making Us Fat and Threatening Our Food Supplies." The "Food Guys" review the hazards, proven or suspected, of soft drinks; the chemical BPA; arsenic in the soil of former cottonfields; overuse of antibiotics in the livestock industry; GMO corn; and the global collapse of bee colonies.

"We need to be more alert and aware of the fact that the government can't always deal with this, even if it has the desire to do so," says Jon. Greg comments: "But WE can control the food that we eat, and if we focus more on organic and local, we'll be much better off."

(Broadcast: "The Food Guys," 1/31/16 and 2/4/16. Listen weekly on the radio at 11:50 a.m. Sundays and again at 4:54 p.m. Thursdays, or via podcast.)
