Clare Fischer

2/17/2014 - Host Tom Engelmann returns with another episode of "Unsung Heroes: Influential but Overlooked Masters of Modern Music," celebrating the career of the versatile Clare Fischer.  Fischer was a keyboardist, composer, arranger and bandleader.  During a career spanning six decades, he worked with jazz artists like Donald Byrd and George Benson and also with pop artists Prince, Robert Palmer, and Chaka Kahn.  Clare Fischer was particularly influential to the career of jazz great Herbie Hancock who once commented "I wouldn't be me without Clare Fischer."  He is the composer of jazz standards "Pensativa" and "Morning" along with numerous lesser-known songs.

Tom Engelmann produces "Unsung Heroes, Influential but Overlooked Masters of Modern Music." The series features biographical sketches and the music of artists who often work behind the scenes or in support of major musicians.
