Public Radio Music Day is a nationwide celebration of local music stations and their unique role in their communities. We're celebrating with these special programs today:

9 a.m. - Morning Classics will feature a preview of pieces that will be presented by Montana Symphonies this season. Selected by Susan Israel.

11 a.m. - Freeforms will feature over 20 songs chosen by 20 different MTPR music hosts celebrating the variety of music and voices on Public Radio.

2 p.m. - Live session from the Music Recital Hall on the University of Montana Campus with the UM Chamber Chorale, featuring Dr. Coreen Duffy, director of Choral Activities at UM.

7 p.m. – Meet our music hosts. Have you ever wondered who's on the other end of your radio playing the hand-picked music you tune in for? As part of Public Radio Music Day you can meet some of our program hosts, ask your questions or just say hello. Register here.

8 p.m. – John Arvish hosts a special What I like About Jazz featuring Montana musicians. The show will have rare studio recordings from MTPR and a world broadcast preview of a new Jazz compilation album that will be out later this fall.
