George Duke, Monday 9/8 at 7:30pm

Airs Monday, September 8 at 7:30pm

He was often known as a funk artist but he was really much more.

An original member of the Mothers of Invention, George Duke contributed to music from rock to classical during a career lasting over 40 years.

He worked with Stanley Clarke, Jean-Luc Ponty, Al Jarreau, Anita Baker, Dianne Reeves and numerous others.  He’s also featured on “Montana,” helping Frank Zappa’s apocryphal dental floss enterprise.

Join host, Tom Engelmann as he explores the world of George Duke on another edition of “Unsung Heroes, Influential but Overlooked Masters of Modern Music.”
