A group trying to continue Montana’s Medicaid expansion past its 2019 expiration date, and to help pay for it by raising existing taxes on cigarettes and other tobacco products, kicked off a campaign today in Helena to gather signatures for their ballot initiative.

Gov. Steve Bullock declared a flooding emergency yesterday in seven northern Montana counties, the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and the town of Chester.
