I-90 reopens after a fire near Butte closed eastbound traffic Sunday

A fire east of Butte closed eastbound travel on I-90 for about an hour Sunday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The closure began around 3:30 p.m. and was lifted around 4:45 p.m.

The fire is east of Homestake Pass, directly south of the rest area along the Interstate-90 at mile marker 235. The Montana Department of Transportation says travelers can expect fire equipment traffic and may encounter areas of low visibility.
