Next week a website to help Yellowstone County businesses navigate the financial challenges of the coronavirus outbreak will be up and running with up to date, credible information.
Starting Apr. 13, businesses in Yellowstone County will have a website to go to to find what is being called solid, up to date information about federal and state loans, grants and other financial relief programs to help them deal with the coronavirus outbreak.
Steve Arveschoug with Big Sky Business Economic Development made the announcement at a Friday news conference call.
"Part of our work has culminated around creating a one stop website for our business community to go to and get the information they need that will be helpful in allowing that business to respond to the challenge that’s in front of them," Arveschoug said.
This websiteis the work of the Response/Recovery Team, part of the local Unified Health Command which has been leading the county efforts to protect the health of Yellowstone County.
"Our mission is to support and sustain our local business during this time of significant economic distress and to prepare the community for economic recovery and future growth and development," Arveschoug said.
The conference call on Friday was an opportunity for the community to hear the economic side of the county’s COVID-19 efforts.
Yellowstone County Health Officer John Felton said the health side and the business side of the local command group are part of a team.
"This is not one side against another side. This is not an either or. We can by working together accomplish both the public health needs to keep our people safe and get our businesses up and operational," Felton said.
Arveschoug said the Business Response/Recovery Team is not only working on current needs but also looking ahead to when restrictions are lifted.
"We’ll probably wrestling with our economic recovery for months and months ahead. And we’re trying to get a head start so we can be strategic about what our recovery looks like as leading economy in the state," Arveschoug said.
The website will be active on Monday.
