Rep. Gianforte Votes Against Impeachment Inquiry Resolution

Graphic: Montana Public Radio News, Politics

Montana’s lone representative in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday voted against a resolution to formalize the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

Republican Greg Gianforte voted with his party members and two Democrats against the measure from the House majority to lay the foundation and ground rules for the process of considering articles of impeachment.

The final vote was 232 for and 196 against.

In a statement after the vote, Gianforte called the process a sham and an attempt to overturn the results of the 2016 election.
