The House has approved a proposal to eliminate $700 million in already-approved funding for public media. If enacted, it would strip essential services and could force rural stations off the air. The Senate will take up the bill next.

Kid Writers Read Their Stories and Poems, LIVE, This Afternoon

Margie Dougherty-Goodburn and several kids who participated in recent workshops through the Missoula Writing Collaborative will be in Studio A this afternoon during Pea Green Boat (4 - 5 p.m.). They'll take turns reading their stories and poems and talk about the process of writing.

Exciting news! The Missoula Writing Collaborative will be hosting a book launch reading for their summer camp anthology at Fact & Fiction Bookstore in downtown Missoula:  Friday, March 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Chérie Newman is a former arts and humanities producer and on-air host for Montana Public Radio, and a freelance writer. She founded and previously hosted a weekly literary program, The Write Question, which continues to air on several public radio stations; it is also available online at PRX.org and MTPR.org.
