A proposal to claw back funds for public media has already passed the House of Representatives. Montana Public Radio and stations across the country receive critical federal funds to strengthen our work. The Senate could vote on the proposal in the coming days. Review of 'Western Butterflies for Young Explorers'

Sharon Lamar is the author of Western Butterflies for Young Explorers: An A to Z Guide, written to encourage children to go out and explore the natural world. Using watercolors to illustrate different butterflies, this guide will help children identify twenty-six different species, one for each letter in the alphabet from the Anise Swallowtail to the Zerene Fritillary. Readers will be intrigued by the interesting facts about butterflies sprinkled throughout the guide. Lamar also includes a description of each caterpillar, its coloring, wingspan, and habitat. Recommended for children ages 8-12.
