Firefighters on the ground and from the air continue to wage what they're calling "a slugfest" on the north edge of the Lolo Creek Complex fire.
Officials say the nearly 11,000-acre fire grew east of Camp and Woodman creeks yesterday, and is now a mile and a half south of the BPA 500 KV powerline, south of Blue Mountain. The forecast today calls for hot temperatures and dry thunderstorms, and firefighters plan to continue trying to secure the northern edge of the fire with ground crews and retardant drops. Highway 12 remains open but with lots of fire traffic and a 45 mph speed limit from mile marker 20 to mile marker 32.
