Ballots for local school board and special purpose district elections must be returned by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3. It’s now close enough to Election Day that voters should drop off their ballots at an election office instead of mailing them if they haven’t done so already.
Voters also have until May 3 at 8 p.m. to request a replacement ballot if they lost or damaged theirs.
Voters will elect local trustees to guide school districts’ spending, ask for tax levies and hire personnel, like a superintendent. Special purpose district elections can include a variety of requests, like for a sewer and water district or rural fire district.
