Location: Approximately 5 miles east northeast of Arlee, MT.
Size: 1,388 acres on Saturday, July 27 at 7:00 PM
Jurisdiction: Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes, Lake County Current Status: Today, Sunday, July 28th, the fire is listed at 0 percent containment. Fire activity was erratic and extreme yesterday resulting in multiple evacuations.
It is recommended that evacuees that have questions regarding the fire please go to the Y junction on Jocko road for additional information.
A Type II Incident Management Team (IMT), under Bob Fry, will be taking over the fire today at 7:00 PM.
Upcoming Events: Today, Sunday, July 28, at 8:00 PM a public information meeting will be held at the Arlee High School. Members of the Incident Management Team as well as Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribe representatives will be present to address questions about the fire. Additional contact information and updates will be provided during the meeting as well.
Resources: Three helicopters; four fixed wing aircraft; two Type 1, one Type 2 IA, and two Type 2 crews; seven engine crews; two water tenders; three pieces of heavy equipment as well as multiple overhead staff. Additional resources are also on order.
Closures: Jocko Road, Pistol Creek Road, and North Placid Lake Road are currently closed to the public.
