Montana U.S. Sen. Steve Daines announced Thursday that he’s signed onto a Senate Resolution condemning the House impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.
In a video posted to Twitter, Daines, a Republican running for reelection in 2020, said House Democrats are throwing out 100 years of precedent.
"What’s going on in Washington, DC right now is crazy. I wish House Democrats and Nancy Pelosi were as obsessed with creating jobs and growing this economy as they are with impeaching President Trump," Daines said.

The nonbinding resolution, put forward by Trump ally Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, calls for the House to vote to open a formal impeachment inquiry.
While a formal impeachment vote would follow recent precedent, neither the U.S. Constitution nor House rules require it.
Lawmakers from both parties have been present during closed-door questioning. Democrats expect to soon hold public hearings.
Republican Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming also signed onto the resolution.
