The famed St. Patrick's Day festivities will make their return to Butte after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 concerns.
The streets of Butte have been quiet the last two St. Patrick's Days, but the plan is for that to change this year.
The city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, hosted by the Butte America Foundation, will be held on Thursday, March 17. Organizers say the festivities are a go.
“I’m very positive at this point it’s going to happen," says Matt Boyle, the parade director with the Butte America Foundation.
Boyle says they’re expecting the parade to be bigger this year after the two-year break.
"It’s been a couple years since we’ve done it, so I think a lot of people are going to be eager to do it.”
Boyle says 30,000 people have attended the Butte St. Patrick's Day parade in past years.
