The National Weather Service is warning Montanans of damaging winds across the state through Tuesday night with gusts of up to 110 mph possible.
NWS has issued a high wind warning and advisory for almost all of Montana through 6 p.m. Tuesday. The service predicts wind gusts along the Rocky Mountain Front could reach 90 mph and some could exceed 110 mph. The rest of the state could see gusts up to 65 mph.
NWS says the wind could blow down trees and power lines, and power outages should be expected. Travel will be difficult for trucks, trailers and some SUVs.
The weather service also warns that with these strong winds any fire starts will spread quickly and be difficult to contain.
