Democratic Congressional candidate Grant Kier stumped in the Flathead Valley this week.

Kier had beers with 35 members of the Flathead Big Sky Rising advocacy group in Whitefish Wednesday night, and hosted coffee for a half-dozen Flathead Democrats in Kalispell Thursday.

In Kalispell, Kier supported investing in preventive measures, like increasing access to mental health care to prevent school shootings and suicides.

“We do this over and over again as a country, is we fail to invest in preventive measures that would save us catastrophically in the future. You see it in healthcare, you see it in the environment and you see it in natural hazards,” he said.

Kier met with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribal council Thursday afternoon en route back home to Missoula.
